Responsibility

Responsibility is a very big thing. To be responsible for someones life is the biggest responsibility. Someone in my family is going to have a minor surgery later this month and they decided to write a living will. In this living will they run down all the normal things that are said. To resucitate or not, to be kept on a feeding tube, or to be kept on a ventilator. Also in this will a person states the power of attorney. I was given the responsibility of alternate power. That was really weird for me to hear. What if I ever have to execute this? How do I know what to do for his medical treatment. I can barely be responsible to keep my room clean let alone make life altering decisions. I mean for Pete's sake I was kicked out of my house for a week. Hopefully I never have to do this but if I do i will be looking for advice from a lot of people. What if I am not ready to do it? Can I relinquish that power? I don't know this is making me all confused. By the way I love my amazing girlfriend.
